Lina Bryans naît en 1909 à Hambourg en Allemagne. Elle déménage en Australie à Victoria, en Angleterre et en France. En 1936, elle s’installe à South Yarra, c’est là qu’elle peint ses premières œuvres. Elle étudie à Melbourne et à Paris à l’école libre de la Grande Chaumière. Elle meurt en 1999.
